I know what you are thinking, I was a skeptic too. There is absolutely no way that you can make something as good as ice cream from a dang banana.
1. Frozen Banana
# 1 PEEL your bananas before freezing them. Trust me… you cannot peel a frozen banana. So, one more time…. PEEL the bananas BEFORE freezing them. Also breaking them in to smaller chunks will make everything easier when you get ready to blend them.
# 2 Use the RIPEST bananas you can get your hands on. There are many reasons for this but the main reason for this is sweetness. The brown, spotty, ugly ‘nanners make the sweetest creamiest nice cream.
# 3 This is going to take a few minutes. Throw a few hunks of banana in your mixer and pulse it until is it ground up, then add some more. You will know when it is ready. It will look just like ice cream… you know, except for the angel wings and halo.
You can add ANYTHING you want to your nice cream. We like to stick with raw whole foods… to keep it healthy. I just blended some strawberries into mine because they are my favorite.
Grey had his with blueberries and added some chia seeds after the picture. I have convinced him that chia seeds are sprinkles… because I am the smartest man alive and kids will believe anything you tell them. He sprinkles his “treats” on anything I will let him. I really am a genius.
I hope you enjoy this as much as we did!
